Our partnerships play a crucial role in how we care for our patients.

Thanks to these many partnerships, our care team has access to a vast network of resources, can stay abreast of new developments that affect children’s health and bring our own discoveries to as many patients as possible.

Our partnerships—a sample of which are detailed below—benefit patient families served by our hospital, but also improve access to care and the quality of care for children throughout Massachusetts and beyond.

Academic affiliations

We are proud to be the primary teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, and our Nursing Department partners with 27 schools of nursing throughout Massachusetts and New England.

Research partnerships

Beyond Harvard Medical School, our many collaborators include the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, MIT Health Sciences & Technology, the Broad Institute, the Autism Consortium and Boston University.

Medical partnerships

We collaborate with physicians at other Boston hospitals to help children with chronic conditions make a smooth transition to adult-oriented care institutions. We maintain close working relationships with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and many others in caring for our patients.

Our network

Our partnerships with community hospitals throughout Eastern Massachusetts enhance the community’s—and the state’s—ability to provide emergency, neonatal, inpatient and outpatient specialty services for children. The network also helps keep the cost of care at a reasonable level.

Community health partnerships

Programs such as the Community Asthma Initiative, and our partnership with the Boston Public Schools, provide services directly to local students and families. Our Children’s Advocacy Network furthers our core mission of improving the health of Boston children.

Advocacy partnerships

Children’s has a responsibility to speak out about the unique needs of children, adolescents and families. We work with organizations and policymakers at the city, state and national levels to bring attention and response to children's health issues.

Commercial partnerships

Children’s Technology and Innovation Development Office has active relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic companies to develop and launch products born from Children's innovations. We also work with investors, contract research organizations and others to speed the translation of our research into new diagnostics and therapies.
